Global Spiritual Life at New York University has 70 spiritual life counselors who represent various traditions, denominations, and groups. These spiritual life counselors are religious and spiritual leaders, some ordained and others lay, who serve the New York University community as club leaders, pastoral counselors, and liaisons with congregations in the New York City area. Representing more than 35 different religious traditions and denominations, these counselors reflect the racial, ethnic, gender, and sexual identities of the communities they serve around the world. The World Methodist Church is a movement that is inspired by the Holy Spirit and supported by fervent prayers, faithful discernment, and sure hope for the future.
This church is overseen and administered by Wespath (formerly known as the General Board of Pensions and Health Benefits). The General Commission for United Methodist Men (UMMen) engages men in an increasing relationship with Jesus Christ and his church, providing resources and support for programs of evangelism, administration, and attention to men's needs. Christopher is a priest in the Christian and Missionary Alliance who received his master's degree in Divinity in Bible and Theology from Alliance Theological Seminary. He grew up in a Christian (Presbyterian) home and today he continues his journey in that faith tradition. United Methodist Communications (UMCom) shows the work that United Methodists do together to transform the world while providing local churches with tools, resources, and training to prepare them for communication ministry.
The Ministry of Discipleship provides resources and services that help clergy and lay leaders at annual conferences and local churches in their attempt to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. The Methodist Church in Bronx New York offers special ministries or outreach programs for members of other faiths or cultures. For instance, The Navigators provide a safe space for students to face challenges related to their faith while increasing their understanding of who God is. Christopher also wants God to use every aspect of his life to share the gospel with the nations. He also wants to equip, empower, and encourage the local church to be the arms and legs of Christ in his community and around the world.
Finally, I have been serving the university community for 7 years in New York City through hospitality and conversation with students from different walks of life.
